About GameOn

GameOn is a mobile-first creative challenge platform for teenagers. Teens submit short videos and photos responding to weekly creative prompts, vote anonymously on peers' work, and compete to become weekly champions — all without creating an account.

What Is GameOn?

GameOn is a progressive web app (PWA) where a new creative challenge is announced every week. Challenges cover topics like stop-motion animation, life hacks, DIY projects, cooking, art, and humor. Teens film or photograph their response and upload it directly from their phone.

Other participants browse entries in a TikTok-style swipeable gallery and cast votes — up to 3 per day. At the end of the week, the highest-voted submissions become weekly champions and are preserved in the Hall of Fame gallery for everyone to admire.

How GameOn Works

  1. Challenge announced — the GameOn team posts a new creative prompt every week.
  2. Submit your response — teens record a short video or take a photo and upload it in seconds.
  3. Browse and vote — swipe through other submissions and cast up to 3 votes per day for your favourites.
  4. Winners revealed — the most-voted entries at the end of the week become weekly champions.
  5. Hall of Fame — winning submissions are preserved in a permanent gallery for the community.

Who Is GameOn For?

Teenagers (ages 10–18)

GameOn's primary audience is teens who want a fun, low-pressure outlet for creativity. Unlike social media, there are no follower counts, no algorithmic feed, and no social graphs — participation is purely about the challenge itself.

Teachers

Educators can use GameOn's private challenge portal to assign challenges to their classes. The platform supports creative expression as part of lessons on media literacy, digital creativity, and project-based learning. Teachers create a class code that students use to join a private challenge group.

Parents

Parents can find detailed safety information, answers to common questions, and a direct contact form on the Parents FAQ page.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a creative challenge?

A creative challenge is a weekly prompt that asks teens to respond with a photo or short video. Examples include: "Show us your best stop-motion animation," "Film your cleverest life hack," or "Make something beautiful from recycled materials." Challenges are designed to spark creativity and have no single correct answer.

How do I submit to a challenge?

Open GameOn on your phone, tap the active challenge, record or choose a video or photo from your camera roll, and tap Submit. Your entry will appear in the gallery after a brief review.

How does voting work?

Each user can cast up to 3 votes per day. Votes are anonymous — no one can see who voted for whom. At the end of the week, the entries with the most votes are crowned weekly champions.

Is GameOn free?

Yes, GameOn is completely free to use. There are no subscriptions, no in-app purchases, and no premium tiers.

Does my child need to create an account?

No. GameOn does not require an email address, phone number, or password. Users choose a nickname when they first open the app, and that's it.

Can teachers use GameOn in the classroom?

Yes. Teachers access a dedicated portal at gameon.life/en/teacher where they can create class challenge groups and share a join code with students.

What languages does GameOn support?

GameOn fully supports Hebrew (with RTL layout) and English. The app detects your language preference automatically and stores it for future visits.
